Provisional Psychologist

 

Sandon is a registered provisional psychologist who holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science, a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours), and is currently completing a Master of Psychology (Clinical).

Sandon’s therapeutic style is warm and intentional, drawing on the lived experience of the client as a fundamental resource for providing effective client-centred care. Sandon is passionate about taking the time to genuinely get to know each individual, to effectively and meaningfully tailor his therapeutic approach to suit a client’s individual needs. Sandon is creative and adaptive in applying evidence-based treatments and welcomes ongoing and active feedback to facilitate a collaborative therapeutic experience.

Sandon’s preferred therapeutic frameworks are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Family Systems Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Psychodynamic Therapy. Sandon dynamically draws on strategies from multiple modalities, based on the specific needs and circumstances of the client.

Sandon holds a broad range of experience, working for over six years in the disability space, both as a support worker and in a management role. Sandon is also currently practicing at Northfields Psychology Clinic at the University of Wollongong while completing his Clinical Master’s degree.

Sandon enjoys working with clients across the lifespan, from young children to older adults. Sandon also enjoys working with both individuals and families, depending on the preference of the client(s).

Outside of work, Sandon loves to be out and active in nature, enjoying surfing, swimming, diving, and mountain-bike riding, as well as spending time with his family and friends.
